Thornapple Brewing Company | Our Story

Grand Rapids' gateway to Beer City USA
Thornapple Brewing Company is tucked into Cascade at 6262 28th Street SE — a full brewery, distillery, winery, and restaurant where the whole point is that you stay a while. Beer, spirits, wine, and food, all made and poured under one roof.
More than a taproom
Most places pick one thing — beer, or spirits, or wine. We do all three under one roof, which means the Mosaic Trellis Hazy IPA on tap and the Bloody Butcher Manhattan (built on a five-year double-oaked corn bourbon, finished with bitters, sweet vermouth, and a Luxardo cherry) are both house-made, start to finish.
Food worth lingering over
The kitchen runs on house-made dough, and the pizzas — stacked three to a tray on the flight — are what keep tables occupied long past the first round. Beyond pizza, you'll find shareable small plates, hearty sandwiches, and a weekday lunch deal that pairs a meal, a side, and a beer for fifteen dollars flat.
Rooted in Cascade
We collaborated with the Cascade Heritage Committee on the U.S. 16 Lager, a beer made to honor the community that's supported us from day one. The Grand Rapids craft scene is one of the best in the Midwest, and we're glad to be the neighborhood spot on the southeast side of it.
A reason to come back
Happy Hour runs 3-6 MON-FRI, and choose your flight: Beer, Cider, Spirits, or even mimosas! The private event space has hosted everything from birthday parties to company gatherings. Whatever brings you in the first time, there's usually something worth coming back for.
